Privacy policy
This policy explains how Window Finder UK (“we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects your personal data when you use our website and request window company quotes. We are the data controller for the information you submit through our enquiry form.
What we collect
When you complete our enquiry form we collect:
- Your contact and property details: first name, last name, email address, phone number and postcode.
- Your homeowner status: whether you own the property, so we can match you appropriately.
- Marketing attribution data: information about how you reached us — the campaign source and medium, search or referral terms, the landing page you arrived on, and advertising click identifiers (for example Google or Meta ad click IDs). Some of this is captured automatically from the web address you arrived on and from cookies (see our cookie policy).
- Technical data: your browser user-agent string and IP address, used for security and to record where an enquiry originated.
How we use your data
We use your details to match your enquiry with vetted, accredited window installers who cover your area and can provide free, no-obligation quotes. Our lawful basis is your consent, given when you submit the form, and our legitimate interest in operating a matching service.
We, or a matched installer, will contact you by phone, directly related to the application you made — to discuss your requirements and, where appropriate, arrange a free home survey. We also use marketing attribution data to understand which campaigns bring genuine enquiries and to improve our service.
Who we share it with
Qualified enquiries may be passed to one or more matched installers so they can prepare a quote and contact you about your request. We only share what an installer needs to respond to your enquiry. We do not sell your data for unrelated marketing.
How long we keep it
We retain enquiry data for up to 24 months from your last contact with us, after which it is securely deleted or anonymised, unless we are required to keep it longer to meet a legal or regulatory obligation.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to object to or restrict its processing, and to data portability. You can also withdraw consent at any time and lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Contact us about your data
To exercise any of your rights, or to ask a question about this policy, please get in touch using the contact route on our homepage, marking your message for the attention of our data team. We aim to respond within 30 days.
This policy may be updated from time to time; the current version always appears on this page.
