Cookie policy
This policy explains the cookies and similar storage that Window Finder UK uses. A cookie is a small text file stored on your device that helps a website remember information between pages and visits.
Cookies we set
To run our matching service and understand which marketing brought genuine enquiries, we set first-party marketing attribution cookies when you land on the site. These are named with a wml_* prefix and store the values we capture from the web address you arrived on and from advertising platforms:
- Campaign attribution (UTM values): the campaign source, medium, campaign name, term and content that brought you to the site.
- Advertising click identifiers: IDs such as Google’s
gclidand Meta’sfbc/fbp, so an enquiry can be attributed to the ad that led to it. - Landing details: the first page you arrived on.
These wml_* cookies are first-party (set only by this website), last for 90 days, and are also mirrored in your browser’s local storage so attribution survives you navigating around, leaving and returning. They contain marketing attribution values only — not the contact details you type into the form.
| Cookie | Purpose | Expiry |
|---|---|---|
wml_* | First-party marketing attribution — UTM values, ad click identifiers and landing details | 90 days |
Tag manager and analytics cookies
We include a Google Tag Manager container that is currently switched off. If and when we enable it, it may set additional cookies — for example Google Analytics cookies such as _ga and _ga_* for anonymous, aggregated usage statistics. This policy will be updated to list any such cookies before they are activated.
Managing cookies
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and set your browser to block them. Blocking our attribution cookies will not stop you using the site or submitting an enquiry; it only limits our ability to attribute your enquiry to a marketing source. See our privacy policy for how we handle the personal data you submit.
